Mapetherm AR1 

One-component cement mortar for bonding and base coat of Mapetherm insulation boards in MAPETHERM® SYSTEMS External Thermal Insulation Systems.

Uses:

Bonding all types of thermal insulation sheets (expanded/extruded polystyrene, expanded polyurethane, rockwool, cork, etc.) to walls or ceilings directly onto plaster, brick, or concrete.

Smoothing of thermal insulation boards in combination with glass fibre reinforcement mesh on both internal and external walls (external thermal insulation systems).

Advantages

Mapetherm AR1 is a grey mortar composed of cement, selected fine aggregates of appropriate particle size, synthetic resins and special additives according to the composition developed in MAPEI research laboratories. 

When mixed with water, Mapetherm AR1 forms a mortar with the following characteristics:

-Low viscosity and therefore easy to spread.

-High thixotropy: Mapetherm AR1 can be applied on vertical surfaces without "flowing" and without allowing the insulators to slip even if they have large dimensions.

-Excellent adhesion to all types of thermal insulation boards and to all materials used in construction, such as smoothing mortars for masonry, traditional coatings, etc.

It hardens without substantial shrinkage.
