After extensive testing, Scanmaskin engineers discovered that the spring-loaded steel discs were far superior to the traditional elastomeric rubber systems used in most other abrasive machines. They provide increased durability and better grinding. They can be adjusted to increase or decrease head flexibility, which rubber discs cannot do.
