Sika MaxTack Invisible

High Strength Transparent Adhesive

Sika MaxTack Invisible is a 1-component, high strength, strong initial adhesive that becomes transparent as it cures

  • 1-ingredient, water-based dispersion copolymer formulation
  • Density ~ 1,0 kg/l (ISO 1183-1)
  • Shore A hardness ~ 75 (after 28 days) (ISO 868)
  • Shear strength ~ 3.0 N/mm2, adhesive thickness 0.5 mm (EN 1465)
  • Operating temperature -15 °C to +60 °C

Application

  • When applying Sika MaxTack Invisible all standard construction rules apply
  • Substrate preparation - The substrate must be clean, dry, stable, homogeneous, free from oil, grease, dust and loose or loosely adhering particles
  • Paint, cement laitance and other loosely adhering debris should be removed
  • Sika MaxTack Invisible adheres without primers and/or activators
  • Non-porous substrates - Anodised aluminium should be cleaned with acetone or isopropanol using a clean cloth or lint-free towel
  • Keep drying time > 30 minutes 
  • Porous substrates - Wooden surfaces should be sanded
  • Concrete and mortars should be roughened and any cement laitance removed
  • Clean subsequently using an industrial vacuum cleaner

  • Removal of fresh residues from application tools and equipment can be carried out using water
  • Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically
  • Hanging Very low (ISO 7390)
  • Ambient temperature +5 °C to +40 °C, at least 3 °C above dew point
  • Substrate temperature + 5 °C to + 40 °C
  • Curing rate ~ 2 mm/24 hours (23 °C / 50% S.H.) (CQP 049-2)
  • Cuticle formation time ~ 100 minutes (23 °C / 50% S.W.) (CQP 019-1)
  • Consumption: using a 5 mm diameter tip, approximately 15m length of adhesive (for a 300ml syringe) is yielded (~ 20 ml per running meter)
