Biocalce Rinzaffo by Kerakoll is a certified, eco-friendly, natural key coat mortar (rough-coat plaster). Formulated from pure natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5 (according to EN 459-1) and natural aggregates, it is designed as a first bonding, leveling, and absorption-regulating coat prior to applying Biocalce series plasters (such as Biocalce Zoccolatura, Biocalce Intonaco, etc.).

Application Instructions

1.Substrate Preparation:Essential for maximum bond strength.

  1. Completely remove old plaster, loose particles, dust, salts, and paint coatings.

  2. Clean the surface thoroughly using pressure washing or a wire brush.

  3. Saturate the substrate with water prior to application (ensure no standing water remains).

2.Mixing:

  1. Mix one 25 kg bag of Biocalce Rinzaffo with clean water (approx. 4.8 liters).

  2. Blend using a low-speed mechanical mixer, free-fall mixer, or rendering machine until smooth and lump-free.

3.Application:

  1. Apply by trowel (flick coat) or rendering machine in a single coat.

  2. Cover the surface partially or fully depending on the substrate type (full coverage on low-absorption or irregular surfaces).

  3. Allow the material to harden sufficiently before applying the main plaster coat (e.g., Biocalce Zoccolatura).
