Mixing Small/medium volumes: Mixing containers, Scales, Water containers, Mixing water measuring utensils, Double propeller mixer
Large volumes: Scales, Water containers
Mixing water measuring utensils
Forced drive or rotary or sprinkler mixer
Free-fall mixers should not be used

Containers for transporting mixture with wheels (trolleys)
Paving equipment
Thickness determination equipment
Calibration of straightness
Rails
Surface finish trowel, Helicopter (with disc and blades)

Maturation - Polyethylene sheets
Application
Mixing Small - medium volumes: Pour the minimum recommended amount of water into a suitable mixing vessel
While mixing slowly with an electric mixer, add the powder to the water and mix for at least 3 minutes, adding additional water if required and up to the maximum recommended amount, adjusting the consistency with the aim of obtaining a homogeneous mixture
Consistency should be checked after each mixture
Large volumes: Pour the minimum amount of water into forced/rotary type mixer or continuous mixing mortar mixer with integrated transfer pipe
Slowly, add the powder to the water and mix well for at least 3 minutes, adding additional water up to the maximum recommended amount, adjusting the consistency with the aim of obtaining a homogeneous mixture
The consistency must be checked after each mixture and be comparable to that obtained by mixing with an electric mixer
Welded Mortars: Adhesion bridge: SikaScreed-20 EBB: Apply to properly prepared dry or damp substrate, which has no stagnant water
Apply SikaScreed HardTop -60 "wet to wet" within 30 minutes of mixing (+20°C)
Also refer to the property sheet of SikaScreed -20 EBB
Note: If the layer of SikaScreed -20 EBB has dried, it must be mechanically removed and a new one applied before applying SikaScreed HardTop-60
Application: Welded, non-welded and floating mortars: Pour the mixture of SikaScreed HardTop-60 into the properly prepared substrate and apply it evenly to the required thickness using appropriate equipment
Level the surface with a straight spatula
Finishing: Finishing should be carried out depending on the desired texture, using appropriate tools.
To get optimal strength, finish the surface of the SikaScreed HardTop-60 with appropriate equipment, such as a trowel or handheld helicopter
Do not use heavy helicopter equipment that is driven
Start of surface finishing/shaping 1.5–3 hours after laying
Finish time comparable to concrete
It is possible to flatten / pass the surface with a spatula several times, until it obtains a particularly smooth texture, in order to obtain high abrasion resistance values
For this reason, the initial finishing process should be carried out by helicopter (disc power float)
Prolong the finishing process using a handheld chopper with disc/blades
This extended finishing process should not be used for the Sikafloor HardTop CS-56 Rapid system
Small surfaces that are difficult to access and in cases where optimal surface strength is not required, use a suitable hand spatula
Maturation: Maturation should begin after the end of the surface finishing process, using polyethylene foil or applying a suitable surface maintenance product
refer to the property sheet of the material to be used
Maturation with polyethylene foil should be extended for at least 18 hours
At temperatures between +10 °C and +15 °C (substrate and atmosphere) the mortar should be aged with polyethylene foil for at least 24 hours
Removal of fresh debris from tools and application equipment can be carried out using water
Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
Mixing ratio ~2.8–3.0 L of water per 25 kg of powder
Density of wet mortar ~2,25 kg/l
Layer thickness 8-80 mm
Product temperature +10°C minimum / +25°C maximum (fresh mortar)
Ambient temperature +10 °C minimum / +30°C maximum
Substrate temperature +10°C minimum / +30°C maximum
Working time ~30 minutes at +20 °C
Standby time / coating Start the floor finishing/sanding process 90 minutes after application
Its finishing time is comparable to the concrete finishing time
After finishing the surface, the selected resin floor laying system can be applied
Also refer to the System Property Sheet of the Sikafloor® HardTop CM-60 Rapid
If resin primer is not applied, polyethylene foil should be strewn as a protective coating
The times are approximate and refer to conditions of +20 °C and > 50 % DM.
Application times are affected by changes in substrate, environmental conditions, layer thickness and water content
Applied product ready to use ~18 hours (without coating or impregnation application)
The time is approximate and refers to conditions of +20 °C and > 50 % RH.
Time is affected by changes in substrate, environmental conditions, layer thickness and water content
Consumption ~ 2.05 kg powder SikaScreed® HardTop-60/m²/mm
The above value is theoretical and does not take into account additional material that may be required due to porous surface, surface profile, flatness fluctuations, waste, etc.
