Sika Sanisil is a 1-component, non-sagging silicone sealant with long-term resistance to algae and fungal growth
Available in two colours white and transparent
Advantages
Good long-term resistance to fungi and algae
Very good adhesion to most non-porous substrates
Good resistance to UV radiation and weathering
Solvent-free (according to TRGS 610)
High elasticity and flexibility
Features
Composition Acetoxy (Acetate) silicone
Density ~ 1,00 kg/l (ISO 1183-1)
Product declaration EN 1565-3: S XS1
Shore A hardness ~ 20 (after 28 days) (ISO 868)
Tensile strength ~ 1,8 N/mm2 (ISO 8339)
Modulus of elastic deformation ~ 0,35 N/mm2 at 100% elongation (23 °C)
Elastic recovery > 90% (ISO 7389)
Tear propagation resistance ~ 2,6 N/mm (ISO 34)
Mobility ± 20% (ISO 9047)
Operating temperature -40 °C to +100 °C
Joint design: The dimensions of the joint must be designed to match the mobility of the sealant
For joints ≥ 10 mm and ≤ 20 mm wide, a joint depth of 10 mm is recommended.
Application
Mixing - 1-component, ready for use
Substrate preparation - The substrate must be clean, dry, stable, homogeneous, free from all dirt, oils, grease, dust, old sealants and weakly adhering paints that could adversely affect the adhesion of the sealant
The substrate should have sufficient strength to withstand the stresses exerted by the sealant during mobility
Dust, loose and loose materials should be completely removed using appropriate equipment before applying primers, activators or the sealant itself
Sika Sanisil is adhered without primers and/or activators
However, for optimum adhesion and in critical applications, e.g. applications in high-rise buildings, welds with strong stresses, in cases of exposure to extreme weather conditions or immersion in water, the following priming and/or substrate preparation procedures should be used: non-porous substrates - Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, PVC, galvanised steel, electrostatic painted metals or glazed tiles
Slightly roughen the surface with fine sandpaper
Clean and prepare with Sika Aktivator-205, applied on a clean cloth
Before sealing, allow a drying time of > 15 minutes (30 minutes for porous substrates)
Porous substrates should be primed with Sika Primer-3 N applied with a brush
Before sealing, allow drying time > 30 minutes ( Removal of fresh residues from application tools and equipment can be carried out using Sika Remover-208)
Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
Support material: Use closed structure, polyethylene foam backing cord
Close-coupled hanging flow.
Ambient temperature +5 °C minimum / +40 °C maximum
Substrate temperature +5 °C minimum / +40 °C maximum, at least 3 °C above dew point
