Sika MonoTop 109 Waterproofing Cementitious Mortar 

Sika MonoTop 109 WaterProofing is a one-component, ready-to-use waterproofing mortar, suitably formulated for brush application.

Application

  • Mixing - Pour the water in the correct proportion into a suitable mixing container. Slowly add the powder and mix for at least 3 minutes until a mixture of homogeneous consistency is obtained.
  • Application - The product can be applied with a stiff or medium brush, a spatula with built-in rubber or a settling spatula in 2 or 3 coats. To ensure good penetration into the substrate, the first coat should be applied with a brush. Subsequent coats can be applied either by brush (cross-brush) or trowel, provided that each previous coat has dried (~4-6 hours), but no later than 12 hours.
  • In any case, the total application thickness should not exceed 4 mm.
  • Removal of fresh residues from application tools and equipment may be carried out using water. Hardened and/or cured material may only be removed mechanically.
  • Mixing ratio 1,25 l water per 5 kg bag (25 % water)
  • Layer thickness 3 mm in continuous thickness, applied in at least 2 layers
  • Ambient temperature +5 °C minimum / +35 °C maximum
  • Substrate temperature +5 °C minimum / +35 °C maximum
  • Working time ~45 minutes at +20 °C
  • Standby/coating time 7 days (at +23 °C and 50 % S.H.) for full operation
  • Consumption ~1,5 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness
