  • For application thicknesses between 5 mm and 35 mm for manual application (per coat)
  • Excellent workability, high thixotropy
  • Easy to handle and apply
  • Good adhesion to most common construction materials (concrete, steel)
  • Good dimensional stability
  • Suitable for repair work on concrete of medium to high strength class due to similar modulus of elasticity
  • High compressive, flexural and tensile strengths
  • Very good final finish

  • Carbonation resistance dk ≤ martyr (MC (0,45)) (EN 13295)

Application

  • Mixing - SikaRep 400 Extra can be mixed with an electric hand mixer at low speeds (~ 500 r.p.m.) or with a mechanical forced drive mixer for larger volumes. Pour the water in the appropriate quantity into a suitable mixing container. While mixing slowly, add the powder to the water and mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes, adding additional water during the mixing time, up to the maximum permissible upper limit and until a homogeneous mixture, without lumps, is obtained.
  • Mix complete packages for best results. 25 kg of SikaRep®-400 Extra powder mixed with 4.0 - 4.5 l of water, depending on the required consistency
  • Application - Application can be done either with a trowel or by hand for small repairs (concrete repairs, balcony decorations, edges on columns, etc.) on a properly prepared substrate
  • Wet the prepared substrate to saturation (recommended 2 hours before application of SikaRep 400 Extra).Keep the surface damp and do not allow it to dry
  • Before application, remove excess water, e.g. with a clean sponge
  • The surface should have a dark grey matt appearance, without gloss, and surface pores and craters should be free of water
  • First apply a smoothing coat, pressing the repair mortar firmly into the substrate to create a thin film and fill pores and holes in the substrate
  • Ensure that the entire surface to be repaired is covered by this smoothing layer. Then apply the product by applying good pressure and compacting it
  • If an adhesion bridge is required (especially where corrosion protection of reinforcing steel is required), ensure that the adhesion bridge layer is still tacky when applying the repair material (wet-on-wet application)
  • Refer to the System Layout for a compatible Sika product and the corresponding product property sheet for more information (e.g. Sika MonoTop 910 or SikaTop Armatec 110 EpoCem)
  • The layer thickness should be between 0.5 - 3.5 cm.Higher thicknesses can be achieved in successive layers when the mortar of each layer starts to set (non-sticky surface)
  • Do not finish the first coat before applying the second
  • The surface can be finished as required, using a trowel or plastering trowel while still wet or with a suitable sander once the mortar starts to set
  • Do not overwork the surface during the finishing phase
  • During applications in strong sunlight or wind, the mortar must be protected by suitable means so that it does not dry prematurely
  • Curing method - Protect the fresh mortar from premature drying by using appropriate preservation methods (for at least 24 hours), e.g. Sika Antisol or Sikafloor Proseal anti-evaporation curing membranes, once the surface water has evaporated
  • Removal of fresh residues from application tools and equipment can be carried out using water
  • Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically
  • Mixing ratio 4,0 - 4,5 lt water per 25 kg bag, depending on the desired workability
  • Layer thickness minimum 5 mm / maximum 35 mm
  • Ambient temperature +5°C minimum / +35°C maximum
  • Substrate temperature +5°C minimum / +35°C maximum
  • Working time ~ 45 minutes (at +20°C)
  • Consumption ~ 1.8 kg/m² per mm thickness, depending on substrate roughness
