RC 220 is a ready-to-use, fibre-reinforced, resin-based cementitious mortar with selected aggregates and special additives
It is easily applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces for non-structural concrete repairs giving a smooth finish
Can be used as a substrate for PLANOCOLOR SYSTEM decorative coatings on walls, floors and ceilings
RC 220 is suitable for: Concrete restoration works, Principle 3, Methods 3.1 & 3.3 of EN 1504-9. Spot restorations up to 50 mm - filling gaps, niches and small imperfections. Repair of cracks in masonry
Suitable as a substrate for the decorative coatings of PLANOCOLOR SYSTEM
Forming of rigid joints

Application
Substrate preparation - Remove loose and loose parts of concrete or cement mortar in general, until the substrate is compact and rough with a minimum tensile strength of > 1.5 N/mm²
Surfaces shall be free from dust, dirt, oils, grease, rust and in general from elements that would adversely affect adhesion
Soak the substrate with water
Before repairing with RC 220, remove excess water using air or a sponge
For applications on existing floor and/or wall coatings made of ceramic tiles, granite tiles, marble, mosaics, the application of PLANO CONTACT acrylic quartz primer is recommended
Preparation of the mixture
Add to a suitable container water corresponding to the required quantity of powder. For 25 kg RC 220 add 4,25 - 4,75 litres of water depending on the desired workability
Slowly and with stirring add RC 220 to the water
Mix with an electric mixer for at least 3 minutes until complete homogenisation of the mixture without lumps is achieved
For small quantities, mixing can also be done by hand. The mixture is ready to use.
Method of application
The mixture shall be applied using a flat trowel, trowel or suitable spraying systems to ceilings, horizontal and vertical surfaces, applying sufficient pressure and thoroughly compacting the material on the surface.
The maximum permissible thickness is 20 mm per layer, 15 mm for ceilings
When a greater thickness is required, apply successive coats when the previous one starts to set and does not stick to the hand
Protect the wet mortar from rapid drying by suitable means
For smoothing surfaces before applying PLANOCOLOR MICROCEMENT or PLANOCOLOR GRANIT decorative coatings, a waiting period of 18 hours to 3 days is recommended, depending on the thickness of the filling
For coating applications with non-moisture sensitive coatings such as ceramic tiles a waiting time of 24 - 48 hours is sufficient
