Application
Substrate preparation - Remove loose and loose parts of concrete or cement mortar until the substrate is compact and rough with a minimum tensile strength of > 1.5 N/mm²
Surfaces shall be free from dust, oils, grease, rust and generally from elements that would adversely affect adhesion
Rusted rebars should be treated with NOVAFER , but after the use of RUST CONVERTER or cleaned by sandblasting or wire brushing on small surfaces
Cracks in concrete should be bonded with the two-component epoxy adhesive EPO FLUID
Soak the substrate with water
Before repairing with RC 340 remove excess water using air or a sponge
For further information please refer to the respective Product Data Sheets
Preparation of the mixture
Add to a suitable container water corresponding to the required quantity of powder. For 25 kg RC 340 add 4,0 - 4,5 lt of water depending on the desired workability
Slowly and with stirring add RC 340 to the water. Mix with an electric mixer for at least 3 minutes until complete homogenisation of the mixture without aggregates is achieved. For small quantities, mixing can also be done by hand
The mixture is ready for use
Method of application
The mixture shall be applied using a flat trowel, trowel or suitable spraying systems to ceilings, horizontal and vertical surfaces, applying sufficient pressure and thoroughly compacting the material on the surface.
The maximum permissible thickness is 30 mm per layer, 15 mm for ceilings
When a greater thickness is required, apply successive coats when the previous one starts to set and does not stick to the hand
The mortar must be applied under normal conditions within 60 minutes from the start of mixing
After this period do not attempt to mix again with water
Low temperatures extend the life of the mortar, while high temperatures drastically reduce its workability
Protect the fresh mortar from rapid drying by suitable means
For smoothing surfaces before applying decorative coatings PLANOCOLOR MICROCEMENT or PLANOCOLOR GRANIT, a waiting period of 3 - 10 days is recommended, depending on the thickness of the filling
For coating applications such as ceramic pool tiles, usually 24 - 48 hours is sufficient
